I know it probably seems far off to be talking much about voice search relative to the car shopping experience, but is it really that crazy?

If you think about Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana and Google Home… it should be easy to see that the most influential, massively adopted companies are ALL IN with voice search tech.

Looking at voice search from an advertising perspective is still somewhat challenging. Most voice search queries are not yet commercial… but they are mostly questions, and with Alexa’s direct connection to Amazon, users are starting to move in that direction.

But for now, people are mostly asking questions. How, What, Where, Why, Who, When??? You get it.

But… What happens when the big platforms discover the best ad placement methodology?
Trust me… It will be here before you know it.

If you’re thinking… usable, useful voice search is still WAY off… consider the fact that mobile search took over desktop search in only about 5 years. We started watching this mobile search trend closely as far back as 2011. By 2015, we noticed mobile search and mobile visits had surpassed desktop.

So… Voice search may just be the next “big thing’. If you want to spend some time with you inner Search nerd… play around with any of these technologies you have in your pocket or or maybe sitting in your kitchen.

The questions that people ask in a voice search are completely different from the things they type into a Google search box.
