In this edition of “Who We Are,” we’re honored to introduce you to Customer Success Manager, Dylan Nelson! Dylan spoke with us about his team’s mindset, communication cadence, and the importance of relationship building.

What team are you on and what is your role at DealerOn?
I am a Customer Success Manager III on Team Libra.

How does your team & role contribute to the success of DealerOn?
The members of Team Libra strive everyday for greatness. Our attentiveness to our dealers, timely responses, and support play a key role in having a smooth day-to-day operation. My role as a CSM III can vary greatly; I support other team members by providing resources and insight, and I stay attentive to the dealerships under my name to ensure a high quality of service.

What do you feel separates DealerOn from other players in the space?
At DealerOn, we are setting standards on how website services in the automotive industry should look. Everyday we are striving to push ourselves to deliver the best work we can imagine and we hold each other accountable when doing so.

How would you describe your approach to customer success?
My approach to customer success is rather simple: communication. Having a direct and open line of communication on a regular cadence is crucial in building relationships and understanding the wants and needs of our customers.

What do you enjoy most about working at DealerOn?
I enjoy the challenges that get tossed our way, everyday there is a new challenge presented before us and everyday our minds are put together to figure out how we are going to adapt and overcome these challenges.

If you could go back to your first day at DealerOn and tell yourself anything, what would it be?
Everyday is a new day, don’t dwell on the mishaps or mistakes. Learn from them and move forward.

What is a fun fact about you that people don’t know?
A fun fact about me is that I have a twin brother, Jared, who also works here at DealerOn as a CSM.

What motivates you?
I am motivated mostly by coffee, but also by wanting to provide top level interactions with our customers.

What are you passionate about?
I’ve always been passionate about relationship building, being able to interact with customers on a day to day basis. Outside of DealerOn I also have my own small business as a professional photographer. Both of these roles give me great access to being able to build relationships with others.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I spend most of my free time with my beautiful girlfriend and dog. In the summer months we enjoy lounging out at the beach and throwing the frisbee with our dog. If you don’t find me at the beach, chances are I am working on my Jeep.

If you could have a conversation with anyone from the past, who would it be and what would you discuss?
If I could have a conversation with anyone from the past, I would choose my grandparents on both sides. My grandparents passed away in the early stages of my life. Being able to sit down with them and listen and learn to what they had to say would mean the world to me.

Who do you find inspiration from today?
I find my inspiration from my parents. They are both incredibly hard workers and have helped guide me to where I am today.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, I think I would choose the power of mind reading. Being able to remove the complications of day-to-day communications would be a game changer.
