Last week, the DealerOn team headed to the Windy City for a little golf, a few drinks, and a whole lot of learning. Our last adventure in the DealerOn Event Series was in Scottsdale, AZ and it was good to get back in the swing of things.
We’re not going to tell you that lives were forever changed at our Digital Strategy Summit with Google, but let’s just say that these dealerships’ digital marketing plans won’t be the same.
Google sent their best & brightest, Kevin Lao, over to educate everyone on how to win today’s automotive customer using Google’s famed study on the path to purchase. What better way to get smart about marketing to your customers than to hear from the search engine experts that are indexing your very website? We agree, it doesn’t get much better than that.
Michael DeVito, our Chief Creative Officer, took the stage next and talked about website conversion for the mobile buyer. A lot of people talk about being “mobile-friendly,” but what does that really mean? Michael didn’t pull any punches and showed off why he’s DealerOn’s creative mad scientist. From his tips on making it easier for your mobile customers to call direct from your website to his mobile-first strategies for your homepage banners, it was clear that DealerOn’s websites are twice as fast as anything else on the market for a reason.
After a delicious fajita lunch, our Local SEO expert, Greg Gifford, grabbed the mic and starting dropping knowledge bombs. A internationally-known speaker and a consultant for the infamous Local Search Ranking Factor Study, Greg is easily one of the top minds around when it comes to Local SEO. He covered everything from the latest changes in the LSRF for 2017 to a link building strategy that actually makes a difference and won’t get your site penalized by Google.
Then, Shaun Raines, our resident PPC wizard, stepped in to finish off the short-but-sweet day of learning with his presentation on paid search. A lot of guys might sweat a bit, having to talk about paid search with Google in the room, but not Shaun. His bid strategies are unparalleled, and more than a few dealers asked for copies of his deck after the day was over.
Of course, after the learning was done, we packed up the tables, rolled out the bar & buckets of beer, then headed to bays for a few hours of relaxed fun. Whether or not the alcohol improved everyone’s long game, we can’t say. But it was a lot of fun.
If you’re wondering whether there will be another one…well, there will be!
Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 2, because DealerOn & Google will be in Charlotte for another knowledge-packed event that will help your dealership sell more cars each month. Be on the lookout, because details are coming SOON!
