An awesome mobile experience is a MUST

Your dealership absolutely HAS to have an awesome mobile experience to succeed in today’s mobile-first world. In this week’s Wednesday Workshop video, Shaun shares some important stats about mobile usage and explains why it’s absolutely vital that your dealership’s mobile experience is fast and simple.

This week we’re talking about… websites.
What? Yeah. Websites.

Me and the beard talk a lot about digital marketing especially SEO and SEM on the Wednesday workshops, but we don’t want you to forget that the heart of DealerOn is high conversion websites.

We rebuilt our platform a few years ago when we started providing Responsive websites. We went to Responsive for several reasons, but the big two were Google’s recommendation and the ability to have one URL looking amazing regardless of your device size.

And some guys should be crazy happy about that. (Wink)

Today let’s talk about the mobile experience. If you have a responsive website you don’t really have to call it your mobile site. It’s your site period and EVERYBODY is super addicted to their cell phone, so we need to have this chat.

It’s the last thing we put down at night and the first thing we pick up in the morning. Sad? Maybe, but it is our reality. Smartphones are chopping our lives up into what Google calls “micro moments”. The I want to know, I want to go, I want to buy, I want to do moments…

Almost 70% of smartphone users turn to their phones to learn more about something seen on TV.
More than 80% of smartphone users turn to a search engine to find local businesses.

Over 90% of smartphone users turn to their phone for ideas when working on a task.

So here are a few things to be aware of when it comes to your website…

Make sure it’s fast. According to Google 40% of people will say “see ya” if your site on their smartphone takes more than 3 seconds to load.

Design your site for conversion and think FAST, EASY, SIMPLE. Don’t make calling your dealership a chore like this (point right). Make it easy like this (point left).

The same goes for directions, but we’ll cover that in a later video.

Here’s the deal my friends… mobile probably accounts for more than half of your traffic and guess what’s almost always better from mobile traffic vs desktop???

CTR, CPC, Conversion rate and CPA or in the car biz……cost per lead.

In the past year alone…. These micro moments as Google calls them have increased mobile’s share of online sessions by 20% and decreased time spent per visit by almost the same percentage.

In the same time period, mobile conversions are up almost 30%!

We’re searching, finding a fulfilling faster than any other time in human history and there’s no end in sight.
