Welcome to another Wednesday Workshop from DealerOn. Our team is in Las Vegas today, wrapping up another great Digital Dealer Conference.
We’ve had a blast meeting all of you, and we’re really looking forward to working with those of you whom we connected with during the show.
I have to catch my flight soon, so this video won’t be long; but I wanted to share with you some recent thoughts on digital marketing to tide you over until our next video.
There are over 200 ranking factors considered in Google’s algorithm. While it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to optimize for every single one, it’s still important to make sure the biggies are covered.
Consistent name, address and phone number in citations has been a key focus for local SEO for years and has historically been seen as a critical ranking factor; but rumor has it that citations have been declining in importance. As it turns out, many SEO experts agree.
The general consensus is this: Citations must be monitored, as allowing them to go unchecked can tank your digital reputation; but they don’t hold as much weight as they used to. Other signals like links and reviews are also considered in the modern search landscape.
So, as long as your citation profile is generally clean and consistent, especially on sites that users engage with, you’re probably good to go.
That’s all the time we have left for today’s workshop. As always, If you have questions or comments leave ‘em down below, and we’ll get back to you shortly. Thanks for watching. We’ll see you next week with another Wednesday Workshop from DealerOn.
