Welcome back to another Wednesday Workshop with DealerOn

The LAST Wednesday Workshop of 2016 – can you believe it?

I know, it’s crazy – the year has absolutely flown by. We hope you’ve enjoyed our little weekly video series – we’ve got some awesome plans for 2017. More beard. More hair. More badassery.

But for today, we thought we’d share our most popular videos of 2016, in case you missed one of ‘em, or in case you wanna go back and watch a few again.

Number 10 – Learn more about the recent Google updates.
The beard walks through the Google updates that dropped in September and explains what changed.

Number 9 – Man on the street interviews from NADA 2016.
The hair and I walked around the convention and interviewed dealers – but we asked a bunch of misleading or flat out fake questions, trying to get dealers to answer seriously.

Number 8 – How long does SEO take?
The beard explained the age-old question of “why does SEO take so long?” – it takes time for the signals to work, and you’re not doing SEO in a vacuum.

Number 7 – My Local SEO presentation from Digital Dealer 21.
I rocked an awesome 80s movies themed presentation on everything about Local SEO. If you didn’t catch it, go back and watch – it’s incredibly helpful.

Number 6 – Local SEO explained by simple math.
Greg came up with this really simple math equation that helps demonstrate to dealers why Local SEO is absolutely necessary for success. If you’re thinking about SEO in 2017, you don’t want to miss this one.

Number 5 – You might actually want a high bounce rate.
Most people don’t know how bounce rate is actually calculated, so I explain how it works – and then I show how a high bounce rate might actually mean your website is working well.

Number 4 – Is your website just lipstick on a pig?
Far too many dealers choose their website provider because they like the way a site looks – but your website has a job. This video covers why you should pick a site based on the fact that it converts – and not be distracted by pretty lipstick on a pig of a site.

Number 3 – We don’t sell jeeps
This one’s one of my favorite videos of the year. Our SEM team was going over audit results with a dealer, and the dealer thought he had this great “gotcha” moment – when our team kept mentioning Jeeps, he said “hey, we don’t sell Jeeps!” BUT – it wasn’t our team’s mistake. They showed the dealer the inside of his AdWords account where it showed that his PPC vendor was wasting thousands of dollars on Jeep terms… ouch!

Number 2 – NADA mean tweets
We riffed on the Jimmy Kimmel Celebrity Mean Tweets bit, and had dealers read mean tweets about themselves. This was by far the funniest video we’ve made yet – but get ready – we’re bringing this one back to NADA in New Orleans in January, and it’s going to be even more hilarious.

And our number 1 most popular video of 2016 – You CAN sell cars with Pokemon Go.
Obviously, the Pokemon Go craze has died down a bit by now, but at the height of the mania, a creative dealer in Lubbock Texas figured out a way to drop lures when the dealership was closed to bring customers on the lot… and they ended up selling several cars off just a $45 investment.

So that’s it! We truly, from the bottom of our hearts, appreciate the time you take to watch our little video series. Obviously, we have a lot of fun with it, but our main goal is to help all of you be better at marketing your dealerships online.
