We’ve got another great Who We Are for you! This week it’s DealerOn’s own Courtney Mahoney, Director of Enterprise Customer Success. We cover everything from team building to beef jerky in this special interview.

What team are you on and what is your role/job title?

Thank you so much for having me! I’m Courtney Mahoney, Director of Enterprise Customer Success at DealerOn. I oversee the Customer Success Manager & Support Team that work with our Enterprise clients.

How does your team/role contribute to the success of DealerOn?

The main goal is to make sure our largest dealer groups are happy with their DealerOn products and services, and happy with choosing a partnership with DealerOn. I’m super lucky to have teams composed of highly dedicated rock stars that go above and beyond for their customers; they do everything they can to cultivate and maintain great relationships with our customers.

What do you think makes DealerOn different OR what sets DealerOn apart from other players in the space?

The emphasis on collaboration and communication between customers and our team. We are constantly challenging and supporting each other with the common goal of delivery quality customer service. The DealerOn mindset is all about striving to always be better, and working together to do so. Improvement doesn’t and can’t come from one individual, one team, one department, it takes all of us working together.

“That kind of diverse collaboration between teams and people pushes the product and experience to be better.”

What does success look like for your team?

When we are able to collaborate with our clients and internal teams to improve the overall DealerOn customer experience – whether that is from getting a sought after feature implemented or find ways to complete tasks more efficiently.

What do you like most about working at DealerOn?

The people. I’ve met many different kinds of people all over the country and am very fortunate to have created friendships that will last the rest of my life.

What is a fun fact about you that people don’t know?

I was a music and theatre kid. I was in all of our choirs and spring musicals. I’m no longer involved in theatre outside of the occasional karaoke night. My favorite production was Beauty & The Beast. I got to play Cogsworth with a British accent. My mom still has all four plays on DVD in our attic.

Who or What motivates you?

Seeing employees grow and succeed within DealerOn makes my job very fulfilling and pushes me to better myself. It’s really great being able to see all these wonderful people succeed after putting in so much work.

What are you passionate about?

Building relationships is something I’m very passionate about – whether that’s at work or outside of work with friends and family. Working with the diversity of people at DealerOn has been great for both my professional and personal growth. I’m constantly listening to and evaluating feedback, not just from customers, but other teams within the company. All of the different viewpoints and perspectives from the wide variety of people have been a huge benefit to the entire team. That kind of diverse collaboration between teams and people pushes the product and experience to be better.

Who inspires you? (present day)

My dad has always been a huge inspiration; he’s the classic American success story. He came from nothing, worked really hard and has had a lot of success. He has a lot of great values that I carry with me, he’s very generous and always putting others in front of himself. He’s constantly looking out for others… sometimes to a fault :D. I always describe him as having “never met a stranger” because within a few minutes of meeting someone they are friends.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation. I love traveling and have family in multiple states, so being able to go wherever I want without needing to go to the airport or drive seven hours back from Buffalo. Especially being able to go back to Buffalo every Sunday, I’m a huge Buffalo Bills fan so I’d love to pop in on Sundays to go to the games, Go Bills!

Courtney's Homemade Jerky

Marinating is key when making homemade jerky

Do you have any serious hobbies or interests outside of work? What do you like to do in your free time?

I make homemade beef jerky. I had a friend mention that they wanted to try it out a few years ago and randomly decided to try it. The first batch did not go well… there was a lot to learn about how to do it right. Things like finding the right beef, getting the seasoning right, getting all the equipment… once I got the dehydrator the batches started getting really good and it just took off from there. During this past year spending so much time at home I started making more of it, and even started selling it and donating the proceeds to charity.

Yum! Any jerky recommendations?

I love anything Asian inspired. My last batch was spicy bulgogi and it was soooo good. My most popular flavors are Jamaican jerk, Honey Garlic, and Teriyaki.
